It's a WHAT???

About a month ago, I started having alot of cramps. Some sharp and very painful and now mostly dull that lasts from 15 minutes to hours. When I went to the doctor yesterday I had lost another pound. How can that be?? Suddenly I became overwhelmed with the sense that something was wrong. With tears in my eyes, I dealt with the nurse that gave me attitude. Finally, my doctor came in and decided to do another sonogram! They checked my cervix and said everything is okay...oh and by the way it's a BOY! It's a WHAT??? The sonographer said she was 100% positive. The pictures are not convincing to me for some reason but the little stinker wouldn't stay still long enough to get a good clear picture.

So I thought the blog could use a little blue update. For those of you that don't know my family very well, we have ALOT of girls in my family...if not ALL girls. I have 3 nieces, 1 sister, and 2 sister-in-laws. Matt's family is a little more diverse and I realize it's not up to me. So this will be a big change for us! We're excited but still in shock. I've never even changed a baby boy's diaper! I will DIE the first time he pees on me. Inevitable, right?

The doctor gave me a prescription for heartburn medicine to see if that helps my appetite. She also said she would write me one for milkshakes, ice cream, smoothies, or whatever else helps me gain weight. I'm trying but I don't know what's going on.

Baby boy is doing fine though despite my weight and cramps. He's growing and VERY ACTIVE! Mati Claire said she's having a baby "butta". She didn't cooperate in her sonograms because she was too still and tight-legged and kept her face covered. This one wasn't cooperative on the opposite hand - he wouldn't stay still long enough to look at him! "Spread eagle and very proud of himself" the sonographer said. Ha!

Like I said, the pictures are not as clear and consise as I would have imagined, but she said that was as good as it got for today. She was hoping to get better shots next month when they check the organs and measure everything.

My Favorite Things

well, actually, just 1 new favorite thing. This may be old news, but I came across a new-to-me CD at Walmart while buying diapers: Jewel's Lullaby. I LOVE it! I think it works on me too! It has widely-known songs as well as some I've never heard before.

A Few Requests

Request #1: Please pray for Matt's family. His grandfather passed away last Friday (I say suddenly even though he was in his late 80's). This past weekend was very difficult for everyone and has completely drained Matt... as if he could be any more tired. During the visitation Sunday, both baby Mileys decided to give me a hard time so I tried to sit as much as possible. I don't think its anything serious, but I cramp more with this baby. Everything hurts worse this time around. And MC was running on all cylinders. Needless to say, I didn't make it to the funeral Monday. I apologize to my extended family for my absence.

Request #2: Matt was a little surprised by my reaction to his latest request. He wants to go snow-skiing with some guys from work! Please persuade him to go! He wants to - but says he doesn't have time. Tell him to find a long weekend. If he had asked me next year, I most definitely would have said no. Obviously I can't go this year or next. I couldn't water ski at the lake this summer. But as a way of saying thank you to my dear hubby - who lets me do pretty much whatever I want aka shop. Shop some more. Doesn't put me on a budget to shop even more. Lets me tag along to conferences so I can shop til I drop. And he's been especially helpful on his days off lately so I can relax and take a break from MC. In March, I won't let him out of my sight. ha! jk.

2 and Terrible

This is how I picked her up from church Sunday. She refused to remove the sticker off her forehead. How funny. But she's upset here because I was taking her picture! The terrible 2's have hit hard. My head is still spinning - what did I do to deserve tantrum after tantrum? She'll throw another one just because I got onto her for the first one. Any tips on how to handle this stage??
Mother's Day Out is going very well! She didn't even notice me leaving today! No tantrums! She started napping on her nap-mat, so I didn't waste any money there. But she generally "pays me back" for my few hours of freedom when she gets home. Attitude, back-talking, fits/tantrums, throwing things, demanding things, you name it! Ugh!

Not Thinking About it

Anxiety, stress, worry. MC started her first day yesterday...so I just didn't think about it. I didn't even take my camera inside with me...for fear of ME crying - not her. I have a better feeling about this year than last years. She is with ME ALL the time, it was hard to let her go... even if its only for a few hours. I know a few of the teachers and MC's teacher also keeps her at the gym (when I go). So it was nice for her teacher to recognize her when we walked in! What a surprise for me. They said she did really well, but afterwards was a different story. She didn't take a nap all day so I traded a few hours of freedom for a few hours of pulling my hair out.

We spent our Labor Day weekend with our friends from St. Louis! It was wonderful getting to catch up with everyone (hadn't seen them in a year). They brought their 2 year old twins so MC enjoyed their company as well! Here are a few pictures of the kiddos - I promised I wouldn't post any pics of the adults in swimsuits! Getting a picture of all 3 together was as difficult as it sounds.

Gigi was here all week so we let her give MC her first "official" haircut!!!! Yay! You can see the after-shots above. But now everyone is gone, and we're getting into our new regular routine I think. Although there is nothing routine about my belly getting bigger and BIGGER! Aaagghhh - it doesn't stop! ;) So I'm just not thinking about it!

Where are my pants?

Well I was planning to scan an ultrasound picture to show you - but my scanner isn't cooperating. I had my second appointment yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised to get another sonogram! This child seems to be quite the opposite of MC already! It was so active and looked like it wanted to stand up and do jumping-jacks! It waved at us and just moved all four limbs like it was running in place! Anyway, I was just so shocked to see such a big change in 4 weeks. It went from an immobile "blob" to this full-out active person with body parts! I also have a made a big change... going from "yeah yeah don't remind me that I'm pregnant because I don't feel good hag" to a very excited and feeling much better mommy! Not that I wasn't excited before - just didn't feel well enough to enjoy it yet.

I haven't gained any weight - so the dr wanted me to work on that. Ha! I thought I was already eating for an army. But oh I know it's coming. I have no doubt.

So with pregnancy, I have absolutely lost my mind. I forget EVERYTHING lately. Mom surprised me Monday morning by getting here a day early, so I have some help this week! We went to lunch yesterday and MC drank so much tea that her diaper leaked. So I changed her in the car but we were going straight home and just put her in the car seat. Put the wet pants in a bag. After I buckled her up, she had the most shocked look on her face and threw her hands up in the air and yelled "Where are my pants????"

Yes, I have days like today where I went in a local gift shop and realized I was still wearing my houseshoes. At least I had pants on.
